This May, we are proud to celebrate a truly remarkable milestone — the 20th anniversary of CharityWishList.ca!
Since our launch in 2005, our mission has remained simple but powerful: to connect generous donors with Canadian charities in need of specific items. Over the years, thousands of donations — from clothing and art supplies to kitchen equipment and books — have made their way into the hands of the organizations that needed them most, making a real and lasting difference across Canada.
When CharityWishList.ca was first created, the goal was to make it easier for people to give meaningfully — matching items they no longer needed with charities that could put them to immediate good use. What started as a grassroots idea has grown into a trusted, free directory that proudly supports Canadian Registered Charities from coast to coast to coast.
Over the past 20 years, together we have:
- Helped countless charities find the resources they need.
- Made it easier for donors to give thoughtfully and sustainably.
- Diverted thousands of items from landfills and into the hands of those making a difference.
- Built a community of giving that values connection, purpose, and impact.
We couldn’t have done it without the passionate supporters, the hardworking charities, and the incredible donors who have made CharityWishList.ca a part of their giving journey. Whether you donated a bicycle, a laptop, or a musical instrument, every act of generosity has helped strengthen communities and bring hope to people across Canada.
As we celebrate this milestone, we’re also looking ahead!
The next chapter for CharityWishList.ca will focus on expanding our directory, reaching even more communities, and continuing to offer charities a free, easy-to-use platform to share their needs. We’re excited to keep growing, innovating, and supporting the spirit of giving that has always been at the heart of our work.
