  1. How about a fully functional rear projection television?

    Shame to just destroy it.

    Free.

    • Hi Robert, thank you for wanting to find a new home for the rear projection television. I have made some inquiries and I am waiting to hear back from the Regina Humane Society; and the Salvation Army. The following organizations I spoke with won’t take rear projection TVs in Regina: Diabetes Canada; Habitat for Humanity Restore. I will let you know more once I hear back. Thank you for not automatically throwing a working TV into the garbage.
      Thanks,
      Michelle Beaupre

      • I also have a large projection tv that I would be happy to donate

        • Hi Duane, thank you for wanting to find a new home for the large projection TV. They are very hard to place, since flat screens are so much easier to move and are inexpensive. You may want to try retirement homes, churches for their basement halls, banquet halls (not a charity but better than tossing in garbage.) NOTE: From experience, I know the following in Regina will not want it: Regina Humane Society; Salvation Army, Diabetes Canada; Habitat for Humanity Restore. You may want to check with your city’s recycling programs, some programs have charitable components to them. Best of luck.

Note: CharityWishList.ca doesn’t accept or distribute anything, simply attempts to assist the person in finding a charity that wants what they want to give away.

          Best of luck,

  2. Do you know of places interested in old cell phones or iPads that could be used for kids to do remote learning or FaceTime during COVID-19 ?

    • Hi Jayne, thank you for asking. I have reached out to the United Way Regina for leads. I know the United Way in Eastern Ontario is running a program with Ruckify to collect. Maybe Regina has something similar. I will follow up with you again as soon as I hear back. Thanks. Michelle Beaupre, CharityWishList.ca

  3. Is there somewhere where individuals who cannot afford to purchase a laptop or computer may go to receive one free or at lesser/well-discounted cost?

    • … in Regina, SK

    • Hi HJ, you could contact your local branch of the United Way, they would likely be aware of programs in your area. Regina T. (306) 757-5671 https://unitedwayregina.ca/

You could try the Salvation Army Thrift stores, I believe there are a few of them in Regina. https://thriftstore.ca

There is also a handy website: https://unitedwayregina.ca/local-issues/211-saskatchewan/ (I just tried the online chat and the person couldn’t answer your question.)

      Could be helpful:
“211 is a free, confidential service that connects individuals to human services in the province by telephone, text, or online chat. 211 also offers a searchable website with over 6,000+ listings of community government and health services across the province.”
Text 211 or Call 211 or Go online sk.211.ca (Go online is free, I don’t know if calling incurs service charges from your telephone service provider.)

It’s spring and sometimes local churches will have community yard sales so you could contact the office and ask if they happen to have collected any computer equipment … maybe you could have them donate or give you a special price.

There are programs if you need the equipment for assistive purposes.

      Hope this helps,
      Michelle Beaupre
