We would like to donate a 30-inch French door fridge, dishwasher, a washing machine and a dryer. They are all in good working conditions and clean. Our location is Richmond Hill Mill Pond area. Hope can be picked up (condo townhouse).
Hi Candice, a great place to donate appliances would be Habitat for Humanity’s “Restore”. https://habitatgo.com/restore/what-we-accept/
You will be able to find the closest store to you on their website. As well their pick-up form, and info as to up to what age of appliances are accepted, are listed on their website. Please contact them directly to arrange for pick-up and work out the particulars. Hope this helps. Thank you for putting in the effort to rehome your appliances rather than tossing them. I have a blender that works well but my son didn’t place the blender on the base properly and the rubber portion on the base broke off. I am wondering if there is somewhere I can donate it to where they can fix it and donate to a family in need or sell etc.
Hi Kathy,
Thank you for wanting to get your blender fixed and then donated. I did an Internet search and found Repair Cafe Toronto, associated with the charity Skills for Change, that may be what you are looking for in Toronto. More information can be found here at website https://repaircafetoronto.ca/
From the CRA website, Skills for Change: “THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES EMPLOYMENT TRAINING CENTRES AND OFFERS A VARIETY OF PROGRAMS AND SERVICES DESIGNED TO ASSIST IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES PARTICIPATE IN THE CANADIAN WORKPLACE AND INTEGRATE INTO CANADIAN SOCIETY. THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS EMPLOYMENT TRAINING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES …”
Note that I have not looked into this organization beyond an initial look at their website and CRA’s website. But it appears to meet your request for repair and donation to those who could use. Email at [email protected]
Hope this helps,

Hi there, looking to donate a washer/dryer combo that is quite old (older than 15 years) but still in perfect working condition. Please advise!
Hi Michael,
Toronto Wildlife Centre has washer/dryer on their Wishlist. More info on my website under the Pets and Animals section.
Or go to their link directly at:
https://www.torontowildlifecentre.com/donate/wish-list/
I know Habitat for Humanity want machines under ten years so that wouldn’t be a fit in your case. So best to reach out directly to the Toronto Wildlife Centre.
Thanks for looking into finding a new home for your machines. You are welcome to let me know if it works out.

I have a 4-month old washer/dryer combo to donate – I contacted Habitat for Humanity but they won’t enter the apartment to remove it. The unit is already disconnected, however, it’s too big for us to move outside. Any ideas, please?
Hi Cheryl,
The Toronto Wildlife Centre has that on their wish list. While they don’t usually pick up donations. My guess is for a washer/dryer combo that would be the exception to the rule. (They are also listed under the Pet related donations on my CharityWishList.ca website).

If they don’t want it, let me know. I know of another wildlife centre further away that frequently looks for washer/dryer donations.
Hope this helps,

Hi,
I would like to donate a stacked washer and dryer. I live in a condo in richmondhill. However, I need help with uninstalling and removing it out of my condo since I’m only 5 ft tall. Is there any charity who can help me with that?
Hi Heidi,
Have you contacted Habitat for Humanity? You could schedule a pick-up directly with them.
I have their contact info, and number to call to arrange for a pick-up, listed on my website:

And here is the link to their form to request a pick-up from Habitat for Humanity: Request a pick-up: https://form.habitatgta.ca/212365524454252
Best to discuss directly with them if they can also uninstall.
Hope this is helpful,
