Dine-a-Rama: Foodie Weekend (Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation)

“Few things can beat feasting at your favorite restaurants with friends and family. But feasting while giving back to charity is a double whammy!

Dine-A-Rama is a the ultimate FOODIE WEEKEND during the Grey Cup Weekend (Nov 24 – 26) with a number of restaurants to choose from that will be donating a portion of their proceeds to support local cancer care, allowing all foodies to come together to improve lives of others.

PLANNING YOUR DINE-A-RAMA EXPERIENCE
From November 24 – 26, all you have to do is enjoy a meal at any of the participating restaurants (who will be donating a portion of all sales). You can attend as many restaurants as you’d like from our list and plan your own DIY restaurant crawl with friends, family, or co-workers. For example: explore the town in search of Ottawa’s Best Taco, Ottawa’s Best Dessert,or Ottawa’s Best Vegan fare. You can make a Facebook event of your own with a list of pre-selected restaurants. You can also help us achieve our goal of 100 participating restaurants by tagging and nominating your favorite restaurant to participate on this event page.

Corporate social responsibility is a great way to give back to the community. We’ve had successful food events this year like our Street Food Truck Social where more than 1,000 people attend and 7,000 people were interested via our Facebook event. Our goal is to exceed this level of interest for Dine-A-Rama and offer great visibility for partners. We ask that participating restaurants make a contribution of their choice as see fits their establishment (% of sales, or fixed amount). Our goal is to have 100 participating restaurants and raise $100,000 for an important project: funding a cyberknife fellow & clinical trials right here in our community. We offer incentive prizing as a thank you to our participating restaurants.
INCENTIVE PRIZING:
• $2000 Travel Voucher
• $2000 Dining experience at Italfoods Gourmet Kitchen for 20 people (Dinner & Wine included)
• $500 Tannis Food Voucher
• $200 for Skip the Dishes

Every restaurant registered automatically receives 1 ballot for the grand prize draws. For every restaurant you refer to join Dine-A-Rama (must be indicated on their registration form), your restaurant will receive an additional ballot.

CAUSE AND EVENT HISTORY:
Dine-A-Rama was inspired in part by Luke Rochefort from St. Louis Bar and Grill, who survived testicular cancer that had metastasized to his lungs, abdomen, and brain. Today, Luke is alive and cancer free thanks to cutting edge advancements in radiation technology through the Cyberknife and a world class clinical trials program, which were funded right here in Ottawa by Dine-A-Rama. This year, Dine-A-Rama is fundraising for this life-saving clinical trials program, and funding training for more staff to be able to use Cyberknife technology.”
