Your donation of a guitar can help change the life of a veteran in need.

Do you have an extra guitar that hasn’t been played as much as it should? Please consider donating it to Guitars for Vets, where it will be recruited to play a lead role in the music rehabilitation programming for a veteran who needs it most.

“The Ottawa Public Library (OPL) and Long & McQuade, supported by Sun Life Financial, are conducting a donation drive for musical instruments to add to OPL’s new initiative, the Sun Life Financial Musical Instrument Lending Library” Accepting instruments from November 7 to December 8, 2017

 

USED INSTRUMENT DRIVE! Accepting instruments from May 4 – 31, 2018 at main library branch, 120 Metcalfe St., or the Nepean Centrepointe branch, 101 Centrepointe Drive. See WishList for types of instruments wanted:

Is in need of new or lightly used items. Please contact St. Brigid’s if you would like to donate.

  • Musical instruments (guitars…)
  • Arts & Crafts (paints, brushes, markers, crayons, jewlery making & beads, any type of decorative crafts (feathers, foamies), scissors…)
  • Games (Chess, cards, checkers…)

You can leave a voice mail or e-mail message at anytime. We are available in person Monday-Thursday 5pm-8pm. All messages will be returned within 24 hours.

      Hello Brandon, thank you for wanting to find a new home for your acoustic guitar. The “Guitar for Vets” program redistributes donated guitars. Guitars can be dropped off at any Long and McQuade music store in Canada, for example in Ottawa: Long and McQuade, 1193 Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa, Ontario, K1V 8S4. Phone: (613) 521-5909.     • Hi Carmen, thank you for wanting to find a new home for your piano. Unfortunately pianos are really hard to rehome for many reasons. You could try IMMIGRANT WOMEN SERVICES OTTAWA, they seem to be quite appreciative of almost anything. Based on recent searches, I don’t know of any charities that are actively looking for pianos at this time.
